Dear Girl Scout Family:
As a family involved in Girl Scouts, you know better than anyone the important role Girl Scouts plays in building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place. And in today’s trying times, with increasing violence, concerns over internet safety, and all the other challenges our girls face, it is more important than ever to preserve the programs that provide a safe and nurturing environment for our girls to learn new things, develop leadership skills, connect with other girls, and just have fun.
Think about the experiences your daughter has had in Girl Scouting. Maybe she has helped feed the hungry while working in a soup kitchen or visited and entertained the residents of a nursing home. Did she earn a Try-It, Badge or Patch learning about money, the environment, science, or sports? Maybe she made her first s’more or spent her first night away from home at Camp Welaka . While each girl’s experience is as unique as she is, Girl Scouting provides every girl with the opportunity to learn and try new things, develop skills that help build the foundation for her future success, and make wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.
For every girl that has the opportunity to be a Girl Scout, there are many more that do not. Our efforts to bring Girl Scouting to even more girls in our community depend on support from business and community leaders and families, like yours, who see the difference that Girl Scouts is making in the lives of girls. Last year, we provided financial assistance for membership registration, handbooks, and program fees for nearly 2,000 girls.
For 2007, Girl Scouts of Palm Glades Council is launching a Spirit Campaign—and asking every family to show their Girl Scout Spirit by supporting Girl Scouts with a financial gift. Every Girl Scout whose family participates in the Spirit Campaign will receive a patch that she can proudly wear on her vest or sash. Troops and Groups with 100% participation or at least $500 in total gifts will receive certificates to use toward membership registration, program or activities fees, or in the Council Shop .
Please consider showing your Girl Scout Spirit and making a gift today. The girls are counting on all of us.
Sincerely,

Denise W. Valz
Chief Executive Officer
